Wendy Sellers, known as "The HR Lady®," is a dedicated business partner and HR consultant who specializes in understanding the unique culture and goals of organizations. With a focus on building effective HR policies, employee training, and management workshops, she tailors her services to suit each client's specific needs.
Wendy's expertise stems from personal experience, as she entered the field of HR without a clear plan and faced numerous challenges along the way. This has made her authentic, transparent, and results-oriented, with a commitment to providing practical solutions without hidden agendas. She is The HR Lady®: Realistic, Honest, and Reliable.
With over 25 years of experience, Wendy has worked in many HR areas such as operations, downsizing, change management, corporate culture, remote and in-person workplaces, coaching, training, HR education, and leadership development. She has served businesses of all sizes, ranging from local startups to global enterprises, across diverse industries including healthcare, dental, professional services, technology, manufacturing, construction, engineering, higher education, federal contractors, public safety, non-profit, and government agencies.
Wendy's straightforward style means she doesn't sugarcoat things. She believes that people are a company's greatest asset and should be treated as such. That means training and empowering managers, supervisors and employees to be successful in their roles is not an option, it is mandatory. Wendy Sellers, The HR Lady, trains administrators on HR compliance and managers on the rest: the people part, from hiring to termination.
I desire to be the change I want to see in this world. I speak up and challenge the status quo. I ask controversial questions. I am passionate about giving back and educating others on not only leadership but day-to-day management of human beings - aka: "HR Reality - no BS here".
I am a supporter of Human Rights, Veterans & Homelessness initiatives. It only takes one person to make a difference! Need mental health resources? Go to https://thehrlady.com/mental-health

The road to becoming The HR Lady ®:
After completing my undergraduate degree early and then my Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in Northeastern PA, I headed to the sunshine state (Florida) to start my career. I just wasn’t sure what that meant yet because I was not at all thrilled with the slow pace of healthcare administration. I was in an elevator with my paper resume in hand headed to an interview when a woman got in, glanced at my resume in hand, and asked if I could do HR. I told her I probably could figure it out. Well, it turns out she was a recruiter and had a role for me at a small, local, architectural-engineering firm in the Orlando area. Let me tell you that those two degrees did not prepare me for dealing with employees, however, they did prepare me for a boatload of compliance nightmares and critical thinking. I eventually went back to school (again) to get a Master’s in Human Resources and then a handful of certifications and licensures too. As of now, I continue to learn something new every single week!
That small firm grew fast organically and then through mergers and acquisitions across the nation and eventually the world. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing set of leaders there that allowed me to grow with the organization. After numerous ownership and therefore cultural changes, I started a new career and ended up in a not-so-great company with awful leadership (or lack of) and decided no one should have to deal with that so I became a consultant to help companies (most who do not have HR) and to train all sorts of managers to become true leaders (not just talking heads with a title).
I now have more than 25 years of experience in supervisor & manager training, HR education, leadership development, HR operations, corporate culture, recruiting, downsizing, change management, strategy, and coaching.
My additional experience has been acquired through experience in companies of different categories, sizes, and ownership types - including for-profits, non-profits, government agencies, and defense contractors. My goal is to guide your company through periods of change using uncomplicated training, coaching, advisory services, and easy-to-access HR products.

I loved the book! On the topic of human behavior & communication, Suck it up Buttercup nails it! Wendy points out the most commonly overlooked flaws people make. She gives examples I know I was able to relate to (many were similar to experiences I’ve had) and points out where most mistakes were made. She also gives great examples of how interactions should have gone to get better results. -Chris W

Amazon Review: A great book for anyone in the workforce who is looking to become a more effective leader. The author offers useful advice to become a better communicator, sharing her own personal experiences on how she became better at getting her message through to employees and motivating others to get the job done. This book provides practical information for leaders to get employees more engaged in the company's mission by properly communicating, and not just with words. The lessons here are critical for anyone in a leadership role, as mistakes can tarnish a company's entire reputation, making it more difficult to attract and retain the right employees. - Lisa B

My employees were not communicating well with each other and things got to a crisis point where two wanted to quit. I had met Wendy years ago and was impressed. I called her for HR advice, she met with my staff, had several management training sessions (on DiSC personality styles). We got all the issues on the table, had fun, and improved communication. My staff is happy, morale is high, and we are finally working as a team, which in turn makes me and my patients happy. I highly recommend her.
